Security has been increased across Jammu and Kashmir for the seventh anniversary. Authorities have implemented a multi-layered security grid throughout the Union Territory. Article 370 was repealed in August 2019, ending the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials have not permitted protest demonstrations at several locations.
