Centre cuts customs duty on crude and refined oils

The Central government has announced a reduction in the basic customs duty on edible oils. Crude soybean oil and crude palm oil duties have decreased to 5% from 10%. Additionally, the duty on refined sunflower oil has been lowered to 22.5% from 32.5%. These changes will apply starting September 24, 2026 as part of a strategy to manage edible oil prices.
