The Madhya Pradesh High Court has stayed an FSSAI order banning whisky and rum sales. This interim order was passed on August 6, preventing the ban's immediate effect. The court cited the regulator's failure to consider the company's reply to its notice. The company argued that its products comply with excise laws and challenged FSSAI's jurisdiction. The High Court has directed the Centre to file its response within four weeks.
