Severe thunderstorms and high winds have killed at least eight people in China's Hubei Province. Forecasters are warning of more torrential rain and tornadoes across several other regions. Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Guangxi, Jiangsu, and Shandong provinces. These weather events threaten agricultural crops and raise economic loss concerns. China is also monitoring Super Typhoon Bavi approaching Taiwan.
