Box-Pi MSLE Structural Trend
Family: breakout · Regime: trending · Complexity: high · Asset classes: Equities, Crypto-Currencies, FX Major Pairs · Timeframes: 15m, 1h, 4h
Thesis
Market breakouts often fail (bull/bear traps) unless backed by increased directional volume and momentum. This strategy assumes that a 'true' regime shift is represented by a Boxline breakout confirmed by synthetic delta, and that markets typically retest 'Price Infrastructure' (PiPi) support/resistance before a sustained move. By using MSLE for risk, we adjust to the 'normalized' volatility of the asset rather than nominal price changes.
Components
- Boxline (Dynamic Range Breakout) (regime) — Defines the 'Range-Expansion' regime; signals that price has broken out of a consolidated structural box.
- Connect MACD (Azullian) (direction) — Filters for momentum direction; ensures we only enter in the direction of the dominant EMA-derived trend.
- PiPi (Price Infrastructure & Position Interface) (entry) — Identifies high-probability entry levels (Fibonacci and Mid-points) within the newly established breakout box.
- ADX / Connectable [Azullian] (exit) — Identifies trend exhaustion (ADX peak/hook) or DI reversal to signal the exit.
- Mean Squared Logarithmic Error (MSLE) (risk) — Measures the 'error' or deviation from mean value to dynamically scale position size and set stop-loss distance.
- Footmap – Heat & Volume [v1] (confirmation) — Verifies the breakout with synthetic delta; ensures the 'break' is backed by directional volume pressure.
- Grid Bot [Grid range plugin] Two Moving Avarages [psyll] (volatility_filter) — Acts as an 'expansion filter'; prevents entry if volatility is already stretched beyond historical standard deviations.
Known failure conditions
- Prolonged sideways consolidation where MSLE remains low but price whipsaws Boxline levels repeatedly.
- Extreme news events that cause price to jump through Grid Bot boundaries without triggering the MSLE risk expansion.
