Thesis
In trending markets, price momentum is only sustainable if accompanied by an imbalance in aggressive market orders (Volume Delta). By filtering MACD momentum through ADX trend strength and BMF volume imbalances, we can identify high-probability entries while utilizing session-specific volatility (Opening Range) to define objective exit targets.
Components
- ADX / Connectable [Azullian] (regime) — Filters for established trend regimes to avoid MACD whipsaws.
- MACD Classic (direction) — Identifies momentum shifts in the direction of the underlying trend.
- Buddha Money Flow (entry) — Confirms entries using order flow delta to ensure price movement is backed by volume imbalances.
- Trepidity Opening Range with Extensions (exit) — Provides structural take-profit targets based on the session's initial volatility expansion.
- Chandelier Exit (risk) — Provides a trailing stop-loss that adjusts based on ATR to lock in gains and limit downside.
Known failure conditions
- Market remains in a low-volatility 'bracket' without breaching Opening Range extensions.
- Persistent negative correlation between price delta (BMF) and price direction (Divergence).
- MACD signals occurring during ADX < 20.
