Cyclic Structural Confluence Strategy
Family: pullback · Regime: trending · Complexity: medium · Asset classes: FX (Majors), Equities (Large Cap), Crypto (High Liquidity) · Timeframes: H1, H4
Thesis
The strategy assumes that institutional volume (detected by the Scanner) creates a dominant trend, but price moves in cycles (detected by CG) toward areas of liquidity (SML Matrix). By entering when a short-term cycle aligns with the macro-trend at a validated structural level, we capture the high-probability 'bounce' as price resumes the primary trend. The edge lies in the filtering of 'low-conviction' pullbacks through volume confirmation.
Components
- Custom 006 Hybrid Table Scanner (regime) — Provides a macro filter ensuring trades are only taken in high-volume, trending environments.
- Qualitative Quantitative Estimation (QQE) (direction) — Acts as a momentum filter to ensure the medium-term direction aligns with the trade.
- SML — SUPPORT/RESISTANCE MATRIX (entry) — Identifies high-probability structural zones for entry, ensuring the trade has favorable 'asymmetric' risk-reward.
- Bears Power (exit) — Measures the exhaustion of selling pressure (for longs) or resurgence of it (for exits).
- Simple Panel Template (risk) — Standardizes risk by calculating position size based on the SML zone distance and fixed account risk.
- Ehlers Center of Gravity (CG) (confirmation) — Pinpoints the precise turning point within the S/R zone using cyclic analysis to minimize lag.
Known failure conditions
- Extended low-volatility 'flat' regimes where the Hybrid Scanner produces a score of 1 or 2 despite no price movement.
- Breakdown of historical S/R levels during high-impact news events (black swans).
- Cyclic breakdown where price enters a parabolic phase, rendering the Ehlers CG calculation irrelevant.
