Daily Liquidity Breakout Index Strategy
Family: trend_following · Regime: trending · Complexity: medium · Asset classes: Forex (USD Majors) · Timeframes: M15, H1
Thesis
Intraday breakouts of the previous day's high/low are more likely to be sustainable if they are confirmed by broader US Dollar momentum (USDX) and smoothed trend direction (Heikin Ashi), rather than idiosyncratic pair-level noise.
Components
- Daily High Low MTF (regime) — Provides the structural regime; price above previous day high suggests a bullish breakout regime, below suggests bearish.
- Heikin Ashi (direction) — Filters out noise from the entry signal; requires three consecutive bars of the same color to ensure momentum stability.
- MACD EMA Crossover Visualizer (entry) — The primary execution trigger when short-term momentum aligns with the smoothed trend.
- Q-Levels V2.2 (exit) — Provides objective profit-taking targets based on external structural data (e.g., Gamma walls or Daily pivots) manually updated in the string.
- Custom 004 Liquidity Map with Drawings (risk) — Uses the 20-period lookback High/Low to identify the most recent 'protected' liquidity zones for stop-loss placement.
- USDX (US Dollar Index) Tracker (confirmation) — Confirms the move is driven by broad dollar strength/weakness rather than idiosyncratic pair noise.
Known failure conditions
- USDX moving sideways within its moving averages (M1 > Price > M2), indicating lack of dollar direction.
- Price oscillating across the Previous Daily High/Low level (mean reversion regime).
- Frequency of Q-Level updates lagging behind high-volatility news events.
