Divergent Darvas Volume-Bias Strategy

Family: trend_following · Regime: trending · Complexity: high · Asset classes: Forex, Equities, Indices · Timeframes: H1, H4

Thesis

Market participants exhibit inertia; a historical dominance of candle types (bullish vs bearish) reflects a persistent institutional bias. By identifying local consolidations (Darvas Boxes) that exhibit momentum divergence (signaling internal strength or mean-reversion exhaustion), we can enter at the point of breakout (volatility expansion) in the direction of the historical bias. This hypothesis posits that the convergence of volume-based support (POC), momentum confirmation, and structural breakouts provides a superior R:R over simple breakout strategies.
