Filtered Strength Outbreak Strategy

Thesis
Market edge is found when individual currency strength imbalances coincide with a momentum breakout from a volatility-contracted consolidation phase. By filtering momentum with low-noise (RSX) and confirming with external currency strength, we isolate moves backed by institutional flow rather than retail noise.
Components
- Corrected RSX (regime) — Defines the macro-regime to ensure we are only trading in the direction of filtered momentum.
- Currency Strength Template (direction) — Ensures the specific currency pair is driven by genuine individual currency strength/weakness rather than localized noise.
- CCI Arrows (entry) — Provides the tactical trigger when momentum crosses the zero-line.
- TSI Convergence Divergence (TSI_CD) (exit) — Identifies momentum exhaustion through histogram crossovers to exit before price reversals.
- SuperTrend MT5 (FxGeek) (risk) — Provides volatility-adjusted Stop Loss levels and initial trend orientation.
- Stochastic Oscillator (confirmation) — Filters for entries that are not overextended (overbought/oversold) relative to the immediate range.
- Boxline (Dynamic Range Breakout) (volatility_filter) — Acts as a volatility filter to ensure the entry occurs at a breakout from a consolidated range.
Known failure conditions
- Prolonged low-volatility 'sawtooth' price action where Boxline fails to expand.
- Currency Strength Template showing high correlation between base and quote (neutral strength).
- Frequent TSI_CD exits followed by immediate resumption of the trend (over-sensitivity).
