Thesis
Market trends exhibit inertia that can be captured by identifying the alignment of macro-regime (Moving Average Ribbons) and micro-momentum (Heikin Ashi). By using structural fractals as 'triggers' rather than simple price crosses, the strategy enters only when liquidity at key pivot levels is breached, while the HiLo Activator and ATR filters account for time-varying volatility to reduce noise-based exits.
Components
- Moving Average Ribbon (chingc) (regime) — Establishes the macro-regime. We only trade in the direction where the short-term ribbon is fully expanded and positioned relative to the MA200.
- Heikin Ashi (direction) — Filters micro-noise. Requires three consecutive bars of the same color to confirm local momentum direction before considering a fractal breakout.
- Mn Fractal Store (entry) — Identifies structural liquidity pools. The break of a stored fractal peak/trough serves as the execution trigger.
- HiLo Activator (Pandini Version) (exit) — Acts as a trailing trend-exit. Once price closes on the opposite side of the HiLo average, the momentum is considered exhausted.
- ATR SL Finder (risk) — Provides a volatility-adjusted cushion for the stop loss to prevent premature exit due to noise.
- GAS Price Levels (volatility_filter) — Evaluates relative volatility. Entries are only permitted if Alpha262 (CCI velocity) suggests expanding momentum rather than exhaustion.
Known failure conditions
- Price remains stuck within the MA Ribbon for extended periods (ribbon squeeze).
- Fractal levels are breached and immediately reclaimed (false breakouts).
- The HiLo Activator flips frequently in a low-range environment, leading to multiple small losses.
