Hilo-Pin Momentum Hybrid建设性
Family: hybrid · Regime: trending · Complexity: medium · Asset classes: Forex (Majors)建设性, Gold (XAUUSD) · Timeframes: H1, H4建设性
Thesis
Price trends exhibit local periods of exhaustion (Pinbars) that often signal the end of a counter-trend pullback. By entering only when structural trend (Sherif Hilo), smoothed momentum (RSIOMA), and range-relative positioning (Average Force) align, and filtering for high-liquidity sessions, the strategy captures the resumption of the primary trend while using volatility-based stop-losses (FCB) to protect against noise. The edge relies on the behavioral tendency of trend resumption after a liquidity grab outside the Asian range.
Components
- Sherif Hilo (regime) — Provides the primary trend regime filter by tracking the HHV/LLV extremes. Trading only in the direction of the Sherif Hilo state reduces the probability of trading against structural momentum.
- RSIOMA (RSI of Moving Average) (direction) — Smooths price action to provide a directional bias; requires RSIOMA to be above/below the 50-level to ensure the momentum is aligned with the regime.
- Pinbar Detector (entry) — Identifies local rejection/exhaustion candles within the trend, acting as the specific entry trigger (buy/sell on the close of the pinbar).
- TSI Convergence Divergence (TSI_CD) (exit) — Determines trade exit based on momentum decay; specifically, when the difference between the TSI and its signal line begins to narrow (histogram color change).
- Fractal Chaos Bands (FCB) (risk) — Defines the boundaries of 'market chaos' to set logical stop-loss levels based on fractal highs/lows. Also used for volatility-adjusted position sizing.
- Average Force (confirmation) — Provides a secondary confirmation that price is positioned favorably within its recent high-low range relative to its zero-line.
- Session Levels (SMTbot) (volatility_filter)
Known failure conditions
- Strategy enters a state of perpetual loss in high-volatility, non-trending news environments where Pinbars are frequently invalidated by gaps.
- Sherif Hilo period (100) becomes significantly shorter than the average market cycle, causing the regime to flip constantly in a range.
