Kumo-StatArb Momentum Hybrid

Family: hybrid · Regime: trending · Complexity: high · Asset classes: Equities, Forex, Crypto · Timeframes: H1, H4, D1

Thesis

The strategy operates on the hypothesis that major trends are best entered when momentum and market structure align, but best exited when the asset's price becomes statistically detached from its historical relationship with a correlated peer. By using MdAE for risk, we account for typical forecast errors rather than just price volatility (ATR), potentially providing tighter, more logical stops in stable trends. The edge lies in exiting 'before' the trend reversal by identifying statistical exhaustion in the broader market context (the pair relationship).
