Thesis
Price discovery is non-random when intraday trends exceed the volatility of a random walk (RWI > 1.0). This movement is most likely to find support/resistance at psychological liquidity zones (Grid Points) after a structural displacement (Mitigation Block). By filtering these entries through a cycle-adjusted oscillator (MESA Stochastic), we can enter trends with high momentum and manage risk via volatility-responsive fixed-step channels.
Components
- Session Range (High/Low/Mid) (regime) — Defines the intraday bias; price relative to the session midpoint determines the trend regime for the day.
- Random Walk Index (RWI BTF) (direction) — Filters out 'noise' by requiring price displacement to be statistically greater than a random walk (RWI > 1.0).
- Grid Points Utility (entry) — Provides precise entry coordinates based on psychological round numbers where liquidity clusters.
- Connect MACD (Azullian) (exit) — Provides a momentum-based trailing exit to capture the meat of the move while protecting gains.
- Constant Range Channel (risk) — Sets the physical stop-loss boundary based on a fixed volatility step, ensuring the trade has room to breathe without being arbitrary.
- Ehlers MESA Stochastic (MSTOCH) (confirmation) — Confirms that the entry occurs at a cyclical turning point or during a strong momentum surge within a denoised frequency band.
- ICT Mitigation Block Scanner (volatility_filter) — Ensures market structure has shifted in favor of the trade, filtering out low-probability volatility spikes.
Known failure conditions
- Price remains in a tight range (< 30 pips) for the entire session, causing RWI to decay below 1.0.
- Repeated failure of psychological levels (Grid Points) due to news-driven slippage.
- Frequent 'staircase' shifts in the Constant Range Channel during parabolic moves leading to premature stops.
