Thesis

Market trends are only sustainable if supported by new capital entry (increasing Open Interest) and strong price displacement (Trend Intensity). By requiring that money flow momentum aligns with price momentum before entering on a CCI trigger, the strategy avoids 'hollow' price spikes driven by temporary liquidity gaps. Exit through TopTrend ensures we capture the 'meat' of the trend while adjusting for changing volatility.

Components

• Open Interest Stochastic Money Flow Index (regime) — Filters for regimes where high participation (Open Interest) aligns with price movement, ensuring we only trade when 'smart money' is positioning.
• Trend Intensity Index (TII) (direction) — Confirms the dominant directional bias based on price deviation from a long-term average, ensuring the entry is aligned with market inertia.
• Commodity Channel Index (CCI) (entry) — Identifies high-velocity breakouts or mean-reversion entries within the larger established trend.
• Donchian Channels (exit) — Provides a structural exit signal based on local cycle lows/highs once momentum has likely exhausted.
• TopTrend (BBands Stop) (risk) — Uses volatility-adjusted trail stops to protect capital and define the maximum risk per trade.
• Bollinger Bands (volatility_filter) — Prevents entries during low-volatility 'squeezes' or extreme over-extended states where standard deviation is too high to justify the risk.

• OI data becomes uncorrelated with price due to high liquidation-to-trade ratios (stop hunts).
