Session Atlas HS Reversal
Family: hybrid · Regime: mixed · Complexity: high · Asset classes: FX, Indices, Equities · Timeframes: 15M, 30M, H4
Thesis
Market participants often exhaust session-specific momentum as a new trading session (with different liquidity providers) begins. This exhaustion creates structural patterns (Head & Shoulders). By identifying sessions with significant performance moves (ATLS) and entering only when price respects historical engulfing zones (Roshaneforde) with sufficient volatility (Bollinger expansion), we capture the early stage of a trend reversal.
Components
- ATLS: Session Atlas (regime) — Provides the temporal context; reversals are more meaningful when they occur after a high-performance (%) session move during the overlap or session open.
- ProfitRobots Dashboard Template (direction) — Used to establish the higher-timeframe bias (H4/D1) to ensure the intraday reversal has structural backing.
- HS Indicator (Head & Shoulders) (entry) — The primary execution trigger identifying structural exhaustion and trend reversal patterns.
- Chandelier Exit (exit) — A volatility-adjusted trailing stop to capture the meat of the reversal while protecting against mean-reversion pullbacks.
- GAS Price Levels (risk) — Provides dynamic volatility-based structural levels for stop-loss placement and uses ATR for risk-adjusted position sizing.
- Roshaneforde Pivot Levels (confirmation) — Ensures the HS pattern is completing near a documented price reversal zone (engulfing-based support/resistance).
- Bollinger Bands (Standard) (volatility_filter) — Filters out low-volatility environments where H&S patterns often lack the momentum to follow through (the 'squeeze' filter).
Known failure conditions
- Prolonged 'running' trends where price hugs Bollinger Bands for multiple sessions without forming valid swing points.
- Low-volatility 'holiday' markets where session performance % is negligible (<0.10%), rendering ATLS data irrelevant.
- Frequent repainting of swing points in the HS indicator during hyper-volatile news events (NFP, CPI).
