SMC Structure-Regime Breakout System
Family: hybrid · Regime: trending · Complexity: high · Asset classes: FX, EQUITIES, CRYPTO · Timeframes: H1, H4
Thesis
Market trends are established by institutional order flow (CHoCH/BOS) and sustained by macro-momentum (XARD). By entering on volatility breakouts (Keltner) only when smoothed candle bodies (MA-Candles) confirm the direction, we filter out noise. The edge is realized by using a highly sensitive volatility-based trailing stop (Chandelier) to capture momentum 'sprints' while using structural lows (Fractals) for initial protection.
Components
- XARD Channel (regime) — Provides a macro trend filter using high/low envelopes to ensure trades align with institutional-scale momentum.
- TradeEase (direction) — Identifies structural shifts (CHoCH/BOS) to confirm that the macro trend is supported by micro market structure.
- Keltner Channels (entry) — Acts as the momentum trigger; a band break signifies an expansion of volatility in the direction of the established structure.
- Chandelier Exit Heiken Ashi Variant (exit) — Provides a volatility-sensitive trailing exit based on Heiken Ashi extremes to lock in profits during parabolic moves.
- Williams Fractals (risk) — Defines hard stop-loss levels based on local price exhaustion (swing highs/lows).
- MA-Candlesticks (volatility_filter) — Filters out noise by comparing the moving average of candle bodies; ensures entry only when smoothed momentum is positive/negative.
Known failure conditions
- Consecutive CHoCH signals in both directions within 10 bars (structural wash)
- XARD channel width narrows by 50% (volatility collapse)
- Williams Fractals failing to form for >20 bars (parabolic risk)
