Volume-Gradient Grid Trend Follower

Thesis
This strategy hypothesizes that market trends are most sustainable when supported by institutional volume (CMF) and high relative volume participation (HTF Gradient). By entering only when momentum (TSI) aligns with this volume-backed trend, and using fixed liquidity levels (Point Grid) for risk, we can exploit the tendency of price to 'step' through discrete liquidity zones during expansion phases.
Components
- 200-Day Trend Background (Smoothed Volume Gradient) (regime) — Acts as a high-level volatility-adjusted filter; ensures trades are only taken in the direction of the macro trend when volume participation is high (low opacity).
- Chaikin Money Flow (NNFX Version) (direction) — Validates the regime by ensuring the internal money flow (accumulation/distribution) supports the price slope.
- TSI Convergence Divergence (TSI_CD) (entry) — Provides the tactical trigger by identifying momentum acceleration (histogram color change) within the established regime.
- Risk Reward Indicator Tool (exit) — Standardizes the trade geometry to ensure mathematical expectancy outweighs the win rate requirements.
- Point Based Grid (risk) — Provides objective, non-dynamic structural levels for stop-loss placement, simulating 'liquidity pockets' based on fixed point increments.
Known failure conditions
- Price consistently oscillates across the 200 SMA slope threshold while CMF remains near zero.
- Point Based Grid intervals are smaller than the average daily range (ADR), leading to premature stop-outs.
- TSI_CD color flipping occurs more than 3 times within a single 30-point grid interval.
