Bandpass Structural Confluence Trader
Family: hybrid · Regime: trending · Complexity: medium · Asset classes: Forex, Equities (Growth), Crypto (Major) Index · Timeframes: H1, H4
Thesis
Market trends are most efficiently entered when a specific cyclical frequency (filtered by BPF) aligns with a structural defense point (SML Matrix) and a volatility-driven trend shift (Chandelier). The hypothesis is that entering at this confluence point reduces the 'drawdown-before-extension' phase by ensuring we are trading with momentum that has already cleared structural hurdles.
Components
- Bandpass Filter (BPF) (regime) — Acts as a frequency-domain filter to isolate price action within a specific 'trading cycle' range, filtering out both high-frequency noise and low-frequency long-term trends.
- Chandelier Exit (Heiken Ashi) (direction) — Provides an aggressive, volatility-adjusted trend bias. Using Heiken Ashi prices smooths the erratic nature of the tight 0.75 multiplier.
- SML — SUPPORT/RESISTANCE MATRIX (entry) — Ensures entries occur only at verified structural 'bottlenecks' where price has previously stalled, increasing the probability of a reversal or breakout defense.
- SuperTrend (exit) — Used as a conservative trailing stop and exit trigger to capture the meat of the trend while ignoring minor HA-related whipsaws.
- Price Line and Visible Range High-Low (risk) — Provides dynamic, chart-relative levels for stop placement based on recent market boundaries.
Known failure conditions
- Price enters a 'dead' market regime where BPF remains near zero for extended periods.
- Visible Range High/Low lines expand rapidly during news events, making the SL too wide for the target R:R.
- SML zones are broken without reaction more than 3 consecutive times, indicating a regime shift away from structural memory.
