Fractal RSX Multi-Bias Expansion
Family: trend_following · Regime: trending · Complexity: high · Asset classes: FX, Equities, Crypto · Timeframes: M15, H1
Thesis
Market breakouts are most reliable when aligned across multiple timeframes and filtered for noise. This strategy assumes that a fractal breakout, when confirmed by a noise-corrected RSX and a multi-timeframe bias detector, signifies a high-probability volatility expansion. By using Heiken Ashi-based Chandelier exits, the strategy aims to remain in the trend as long as the smoothed price action stays above the volatility-adjusted floor.
Components
- Simple Moving Average (SMA) (regime) — Establishes the primary trend direction to ensure trades are only taken in the direction of institutional flow.
- Corrected RSX (direction) — Filters out micro-volatility and noise, providing a 'clean' momentum signal to confirm the strength of the move.
- Support and Resistance (Fractal-based) (entry) — Identifies the specific price level where market structure breaks, triggering the entry on a confirmed candle close.
- RSI Area (Histogram) (exit) — Provides a momentum-based exit signal to capture profits before mean reversion occurs.
- Chandelier Exit Heiken Ashi Variant (risk) — Uses Heiken Ashi smoothed volatility to set a dynamic trailing stop that accounts for asset-specific volatility.
- TF Bias Detector (SMC) (confirmation) — Ensures multi-timeframe alignment, preventing entries against higher-order momentum and structural bias.
Known failure conditions
- Price remains within the SMA 50 for extended periods (flat regime).
- Fractal levels are breached and immediately recaptured (stop-running/liquidity grabs).
- Corrected RSX oscillates around the 50 level without clear direction.
