Geometric Displacement & Volumatic Structure Alpha
Family: hybrid · Regime: trending · Complexity: medium · Asset classes: Forex, Indices, Large-cap Equities · Timeframes: 1H, 4H
Thesis
This strategy hypothesizes that institutional 'displacement' (Order Blocks) followed by high-momentum volume expansion indicates a high-probability trend leg. By entering only when price structure (Regime) and volume participation (Volumatic S/R) align, we filter out minor retracements. Andrew's Pitchfork is used as the exit mechanism under the assumption that price travels in geometric frequencies following a major structural break.
Components
- Imported UDT typed UDF params Test (regime) — Acts as a first-order trend delta filter; positive change in point values suggests an upward structural shift.
- Momentum (MOM) (direction) — Confirms that the impulsive move identified by the entry component has sufficient velocity to sustain a trend.
- Order Block / FVG Detector (entry) — Identifies the specific institutional foot-print (imbalances) that act as the catalyst for the trade.
- Auto Pitchfork (exit) — Provides dynamic targets based on median line geometry, capturing the natural frequency of the trend.
- Risk Reward Indicator Tool (risk) — Standardizes position sizing and calculates the distance between the OB entry and the stop-loss point.
- Volumatic Support/Resistance Levels [BigBeluga] (volatility_filter) — Filters entries by ensuring they occur near high-volume structural levels, preventing 'buying the top' of a low-volume move.
Known failure conditions
- Market enters a tight range where Momentum oscillates around zero and Auto Pitchfork pivots frequently redraw.
- Significant news events causing price to gap through Volumatic S/R levels without respect for volume expansion.
