Grid-Flow Momentum Reversal
Family: hybrid · Regime: mixed · Complexity: high · Asset classes: Equities, Crypto, Futures · Timeframes: 15m, 1h
Thesis
Market participants often overextend price to volatility-based 'value' extremes (Grid Low/High). If aggressive buyers/sellers fail to sustain the move at these levels (indicated by Buddha Money Flow imbalances) and structural momentum shifts (WaveTrend score), a high-probability reversal or trend continuation occurs, provided the market possesses sufficient directional strength (ADX).
Components
- Grid Bot [Grid range plugin] Two Moving Avarages [psyll] (regime) — Defines the 'value area'. We look for mean-reversion or trend-initiation when price is at the boundaries of the dynamic grid.
- WaveTrend v3 [WavesUnchained] (direction) — Filters for multi-timeframe structural alignment and momentum crossovers to ensure we aren't catching a 'falling knife'.
- Buddha Money Flow (entry) — Provides the final execution trigger by identifying aggressive market participant imbalances (CVD) at the point of entry.
- ATR Fib (exit) — Sets objective profit targets based on session-relative volatility extensions.
- Chandelier Exit (risk) — Dynamic trailing stop that adapts to volatility, protecting capital against sudden reversals.
- ADX / Connectable [Azullian] (volatility_filter) — Ensures the trade is taken during periods of sufficient trend strength to overcome spread and slippage.
Known failure conditions
- Price remains pinned to Grid High/Low boundaries without a Buddha Money Flow imbalance, indicating a 'grinding' regime.
- Persistent divergence between WaveTrend Score and Price Action.
- Low volatility environments where ADX remains below 15 for extended periods.
