Thesis
Market momentum (ASH) is only statistically significant when it coincides with a structural regime shift (Matrix Predicate) and is supported by expanding volatility (ATR HA). By entering on these convergences and exiting when the alligator's 'hunger' (Gator) fades, we capture the meat of a trend while using volume-validated pivot zones to define risk relative to institutional participation.
Components
- Matrix Predicate Property Tester (regime) — Acts as a structural regime gate; the True Range of the 'stochastic' property (whether rows sum to 1) identifies transitions between organized price distributions and chaotic noise.
- Unsupported table.new modes (direction) — Provides the raw directional bias. Although designed for table testing, it outputs price, which serves as the fundamental trend filter (Price > Price[n]).
- Absolute Strength Histogram (ASH) (entry) — Captures the momentum of the bulls vs bears. Entries are triggered when the net strength flips positive (bullish) or negative (bearish).
- Gator Oscillator (exit) — Identifies the exhaustion phase. Exits are triggered when the Gator 'sates' (histogram bars shrink), indicating a loss of trend intensity.
- Volume and Pivot Points Correlation with Full Control (risk) — Provides dynamic support/resistance zones based on high-volume pivots for hard stop-loss and take-profit placement.
- ATR Heiken Ashi (volatility_filter) — Filters out low-volatility environments where ASH signals are prone to whipsaw, ensuring momentum has sufficient volatility backing.
Known failure conditions
- If the Matrix Predicate remains constant (TR=0) for extended periods, no regime transitions are detected, leading to zero trades.
- If ATR Heiken Ashi remains below its long-term average, the strategy stays sidelined indefinitely.
- In hyper-volatile markets, the right-side lag of the Pivot Points (5 bars) causes the stop-loss to be placed too far from current price, destroying the R:R ratio.
