Squeeze-Force Expansion Hybrid
Family: breakout · Regime: trending · Complexity: medium · Asset classes: FX, Equities, Crypto · Timeframes: H1, H4, D1
Thesis
Market trends are born from periods of volatility compression. By identifying the 'Squeeze' and confirming the direction with a zero-lag filter (Ehlers USF) and a range-normalized oscillator (Average Force), we can enter the trend at the point of maximum velocity expansion, using ATR-based trailing stops to capture the meat of the move while exiting at pre-calculated daily structural targets (Pivots).
Components
- Bollinger Squeeze Advanced (regime) — Acts as the primary regime filter to identify the transition from low-volatility (squeeze) to high-momentum expansion.
- Array sort unsupported order (direction) — Used as a conceptual proxy for market structure failure; if the market cannot be ordered ('sideways'), we seek the deviation from this state via the Squeeze.
- Average Force (entry) — Provides the tactical entry signal by measuring the close's position relative to its recent range, indicating localized strength/weakness.
- Pivot Point S&R with GMT Correction (exit) — Provides objective, time-synched horizontal targets for profit taking based on floor pivot math.
- SuperTrend (risk) — Determines the dynamic invalidation level (Stop Loss) and provides trailing risk management based on ATR.
- Ehlers Ultimate Smoother Filter (USF) (confirmation) — A zero-lag trend confirmation tool to ensure entry is aligned with the immediate underlying price movement.
Known failure conditions
- Prolonged 'Squeeze' state lasting > 50 bars, indicating a dead market where momentum signals become noise.
- Average Force oscillates around 0 with high frequency without hitting Pivot targets.
- Price consistently closes above/below SuperTrend but reverses before reaching Pivot R1/S1.
