Zero-Lag USDX Momentum Cross

Family: trend_following · Regime: trending · Complexity: medium · Asset classes: Forex (USD Majors: EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD, NZDUSD) · Timeframes: H1, H4

Thesis

The US Dollar Index (USDX) acts as a primary barometer for global risk appetite and capital flow. Because the USD is the primary counter-currency for most majors, individual pairs (like EURUSD) often exhibit 'lagged' momentum relative to the broader index. By using a Zero Lag LSMA to identify the local trend and USDX for the macro trend, we can capture high-probability entries when volatility (Bollinger Bands) and momentum (Stochastic) align. The edge lies in the filtering of idiosyncratic pair noise using the aggregate USD strength.
